ARMY PQD42C P43 HBT

HBT is the abbreviation of HERRINGBONE-TWILL, which means herringbone twill. Just like its name, the texture of this weave is very fishbone, with "V" overlapping and arranged, and the two adjacent rows are in opposite directions (there are also similar weaves, which will be discussed later). It is also translated as "herringbone pattern". The origin of HBT can be traced back to the late 19th century and the early 20th century. In 1908, the United States distributed denim fabrics as work clothes. At that time, the fabrics used in the United States were mainly denim and cotton. On April 3, 1941, ARMY finalized the new HBT, which was widely used in the field of work clothes and uniforms. The design and structure of this fabric make it wear-resistant and durable. During World War II, HBT clothing was more widely used. Due to its durability, breathability and comfort, it became one of the common uniforms.

RMY HBT trousers, the specifications of this pair of HBT trousers were finalized in 1943, so they are generally called P43 (Pattern 1943). The original year label is Special, O.D.7, Special stands for special edition, just like the P43 jacket, it has a gas flap, and OD7 refers to the color. Contract number
W-41-187-qm-745, the contract was signed on August 11, 1944, the trousers specifications are P.Q.D.No.42C, and the specifications were promulgated in May 1944.
P43 ARMY trousers have obvious characteristics, first of all, the OD-colored herringbone fabric, which is different from the texture and color of the P41 herringbone fabric. There are two rectangular oversized pockets on the side, just like the P43 jacket. Use boiled black 13-star metal buttons. There are two types of square pockets on P43 trousers. The early version was issued on March 10, 1943. The side pockets were closer to the upper waistline, and the generally visible distance was 6-9cm. In the later version, the distance between the pocket and the waistline was changed to 14-16cm, which was equivalent to the pocket moving down. This version was issued on April 1, 1944. Therefore, the version can be roughly determined by the position of the pockets. The GIZEMO replica is the specification issued in May 1944. It is obvious that the pockets are far away from the waistline.

The P43 tops and bottoms produced by GIZEMO this time are restored according to the original version and details. By disassembling the fabrics of the original collection and analyzing the weaving method, it is different from the herringbone weaving method of P41. We use American Supima long-staple cotton spinning yarn to make it. The high-quality cotton ensures the softness of the fabric after aging. The metal buttons are specially molded according to the style of that year, with classic boiled black 13-star metal buttons.
GIZEMO's P43 trousers will have a natural aging feeling after using for a period of time.
