As the successor of the M41 jacket, the M-43 solves the problems of the M41, such as poor waterproofing, difficult color concealment, small pocket capacity, inability to adapt to flexible scenes with the built-in wool lining, and dry cleaning only. The M43 uses the layering concept for the first time, and the outer shell is replaced with tightly woven 9-ounce cotton sateen, which improves the windproof and waterproof performance of the jacket. There is a separate wool liner inside, which can be worn under the outer layer or removed. The color is OD7, which is darker than the M41. The M43 has a large pocket with more storage space, and the buttons are hidden on the inside to prevent them from being rubbed when passing through bushes or ground obstacles.

In 1942, the M43 jacket was developed, and General Clark played an important role in ensuring the standardization of this jacket. However, General Bradley of the European Theater Command believed that the M43 was not perfect and that the coat was useless for keeping the legs warm when sleeping in the field. The European Theater refused to accept this coat until a small number were accepted in the fall of 1944. The original QMC specification of the M43 was 370, and subsequent iterations were 370A, 370B, 370C, 370D, and 370E. 370 and 370A were experimental versions at the time and almost did not appear in World War II. Three specifications during World War II: 370B, 370C, and 370D. Post-war specifications 6-370, MIL-J-843, MIL-J-10919. 

This year, GIZMEO produced the WWII version of 370D. One of its important features is that it uses the Pattern B version. Pat.B was modified on December 31, 1943, adding chest and arm circumference.
After this date, 370C and 370D, 370E, M50, M51, M65 are all Pattern B cuts. This cut has a larger internal space, can move freely, and is easy to add lining.

The attention to original details
For this 370D, we used common plain cotton satin fabric, and strictly restored the original 370D fabric in our hands. The color, weave, and thickness were carefully reproduced. It is different from the 370E version of M43 we made before. The glossiness of this 370D fabric is relatively matte, and it is greener than the previous 370E. There are slight differences in the pocket cover and tailoring. At that time, there were some differences in the fabric color and material weight of the original M43 jacket, and this also existed in the same specifications.
