AirTransport Command (ATC) is a unit of the United States Air Force. It was established during World War II and is the strategic airlift component of the United States Army Air Force. It has two main missions. The first is to transport supplies and equipment between the United States and overseas combat theaters; the second is to transport aircraft from manufacturing plants in the United States to places where they are needed for training or combat use.
Also operating worldwide.

The Air Transport Command (ATC) once performed a great feat of fighting side by side with China in the China-Burma-India theater.
The "Hump Route" was a major route for China and the Allies during World War II.
The air channel began in 1942 and ended at the end of World War II, making an important contribution to the fight against the Japanese fascism. The "Hump Route" starts from Assam in India in the west, crosses the Himalayas, Gaoligong Mountains, Hengduan Mountains, Salween River, Nu River, Lancang River, Jinsha River in the east, and enters the Yunnan Plateau and Sichuan Province in China. The total length of the route is 500 miles, and the altitude of the terrain is around 4500-5500 meters, with the highest altitude reaching 7000 meters. The mountains are undulating like the back of a camel, so it is named "Hump Route". The "Hump Route" was a tragic airlift that lasted the longest, had the most difficult conditions, and paid the highest price in the history of world war airlift. The "Hump Route" passes through high mountain snow peaks, canyons and glaciers, tropical jungles, cold In addition, the climate in this area is very harsh, with strong air currents, low pressure, and
Hail and frost put aircraft at risk of crashing and hitting mountains at any time during flight.

Its establishment is a heroic feat in the history of world aviation, and was jointly created by the pilots of the two countries. The Hump pilots overcame many difficulties and obstacles, sacrificed heroically, flew over the natural dangers of the Hump, and broke the Japanese siege of China. They transported urgently needed strategic materials for the war against Japan, established the lifeline of the air war, and made an indelible contribution to the defeat of Japan. The martyrs who sacrificed their lives on the Hump Route will always live in the hearts of the Chinese and American people.

The Hump Route also builds a bridge of friendship between the people of China and the United States. The "Hump Pilots Association" established in the United States in 1947 has organized delegations to visit China many times. In 1995, on the 50th anniversary of the victory of China's Anti-Japanese War and the World Anti-Fascist War, the "Hump Pilots Association" organized a delegation to come to China and revisit their hometown and hold the "World War II Hump Flight Memorial Ceremony" in front of the "Hump Flight Memorial" in Kunming.
