B-11 FLYING JACKET

The B-11 flight jacket, born in the early 1940s, is similar in appearance to the B-9 and is equipped with the iconic fur integrated hood. It is longer than most AAF jackets, making it look like a parka. It has a zipper on the front and a buttoned windshield inside. It is equipped with two diagonal pockets. The inner layer is made of wool, with adjustable buckles at the wrists and behind the hat, and an elastic band behind the waist to tighten the waist.

The B-11 was born in the early 1940s as the successor to the B-7 sheepskin jacket, a winter flight jacket produced together with the B-9. As sheepskin and leather became scarce, bomber jackets had no choice but to find alternative fabrics and enter the era of cotton shells. Compared with the B-9, which uses down and feathers for insulation, the B-11 uses alpaca wool, which has a better texture and is a well-known efficient insulation material. During World War II, pilots and aircrews used this jacket on the European battlefield and spoke highly of it.

This time our GIZEMO team reproduced this classic B-11 flight jacket, analyzed the vintage's actual item, and followed the original version. The outer fabric is made of American supima long-staple cotton, and Belgian heavy looms restore the pure cotton satin cloth surface, which is rich in gloss and charming olive green.

Historically, the most common zippers used by the B-11 were the TALON M42 and No. 5 CONAMR
We use rare Japanese-made original style TALONM42 brass zippers and pure cotton webbing
The characteristic of the M42 zipper is that the base is an asymmetric diamond shape. This kind of zipper is rarely seen on the market today.
