This M-65 jacket is a limited product launched by the GIZEMO team on the occasion of its 5th anniversary. DPSC is the abbreviation of Defense Personnel Support Center. The original M65 was distributed to this department. Historically, the number was very small, and friends who have seen the original are even rarer.
The DPSC limited edition set includes: A replica DPSC (Defense Personnel Support Center) 8025 version 1966 M-65 second generation jacket
A replica of the 1966 DPSC Department of Defense version M-65 jacket liner

In the early 1960s, the US Army planned to update its field uniforms, and a new jacket model, the M-65, was developed. The collar part was changed to a stand-up curved collar, with a zipper and a hidden windproof hood. The original buttons on the cuffs were changed to more convenient Velcro, and the cuffs were designed with triangular horseshoe sleeves to protect the backs of the hands.
There is a drawstring at the waist for easy cinching to maintain warmth.

Reproduce M-65 nylon/cotton blend fabric
Historically, due to factors such as poor wear resistance and poor waterproof performance of pure cotton field jacket fabrics, newly developed nylon and cotton thick blended materials were used in the M-65 jacket.

In order to restore the texture of the M-65 back, we blended American SUPIMA long-staple cotton and nylon to restore the fabric characteristics of the M-65 back. The weft yarn showed a slightly convex and slub texture. This texture is actually from the original year. The quality of cotton is not as refined as it is now, and the textile machines are also relatively backward, so the cloth will have this slightly rough feeling.

Real blended M65 fabric actually requires a certain amount of experience and technology to produce. This kind of blended fabric is actually difficult to dye because the materials are different and have different abilities to absorb dyes, so it requires certain experience and technology. Therefore, even Japanese brands on the market do not use blended fabrics. In fact, because of the difficulty in development, the cost is relatively high.

Original style aluminum tooth vintage Conmar zipper
Historically, the zippers used in the early days of M-65s were often aluminum-tipped conmar.
Most M-65 jackets before 1971 were made of "aluminum pull"
Most of the sliders are made of aluminum-colored alloy. This kind of zipper is rarely seen on the market.
The silver texture brought by the aluminum teeth is an iconic feature of the early M65

The collar zipper is made of No. 5 aluminum teeth. Military players should be familiar with this zipper.
The silver color brought by the aluminum teeth of the cotton webbing is easy to identify.

Classic thermal materials from America are popular because they retain heat efficiently, dry quickly, are lightweight and breathable. By using microfibers, the air chambers in PrimaLoft thermal insulation material can lock in body heat and achieve comfortable warmth in all weather conditions. The softness of the fiber is comparable to real goose down, and it can still keep you warm in humid environments. It is a functional fabric also used by the US Marine Corps.

This historically rare DPSC second-generation classic M-65 jacket is reproduced. One reason is its rarity, and the other reason is that as a classic model of the M65 with epaulettes in history, it has some characteristics of the early M-65. , the collar tabs are made of the same fabric as the clothes. The later M65 used webbing, and the lower pocket fabric was made of white cotton-seed twill. The cuffs
It has a triangle area and horseshoe sleeves, and is an important version of the M65 standard. This replica piece has real nylon/cotton blended fabric, military version, aluminum toothed Conmar zipper, original style label restoration, custom snap buckle and urea buckle, rare EPSC liner, and it was rigorously produced by a factory that processes Japanese brands. On the 5th anniversary of the GIZEMO brand, we reused this work to set higher goals for ourselves in the future.
