In the early 1940s, with the development of submarines, aircraft carriers, destroyers, etc., and the increase in strategic navigation longitude. Sailors working on the deck also needed thicker jackets to withstand low temperatures. With several years of actual combat experience, in order to enable soldiers working on the deck to withstand colder weather and oxygen. The US Navy continues to make adjustments to DECK HOOK. First, the hem thread was cancelled, and the version was adjusted from a short version to a mid-length version. Change the flannel wool to an alpaca lining. The outer cotton fabric was upgraded to thicker jungle cloth with a water-repellent effect, and the NI Deck Jacket was born.

The third version of the N-1 was delivered in November 1944, in khaki and light green.
The NI plywood jacket reproduced by the GIZEMO team with contract number NXss80453 is a rare second-generation NI classic contract number. The fabric is thicker striped jungle cloth.

Features of the third generation N-1: khaki or light green, USN stamped on the left chest, pure alpaca lining, no alpaca on the cuffs, no gun loops under the armpits, copper zippers.

Historically, the zippers used in the third generation of olive green deck suits were commonly made of copper TALONM42. We use rare original style copper zippers produced in Japan.

We spent half a year researching and developing a genuine pure alpaca lining. As a high-end replica, we hope that the replica clothes can be as close as possible to the historical version, because in each specific era, the fabrics and zippers used in military uniforms are important factors in making them classics. What's more, alpaca is regarded as the essence of N-1. If the work is superficial, it cannot be called perfect.

Starting in the 1940s and ending in the 1960s, this deck jacket, known as the N-1, is used by US Navy ship personnel. The NI Deck Jacket is an all-American classic of the 20th century, combining ruggedness and functionality, and perhaps that's why it's one of the longest-serving jackets in US Navy history.
