M-43 FIELD JACKET

The M-1943 field jacket is an improved combat uniform based on the M-1941 that was launched by the US Army in the late World War II. This jacket, officially distributed in models 370B, 370C, 370D and 370E, has only minor design changes. It can be said that the M-43 is the origin of the development of the official four-pocket field jacket. It was later developed into the M-50, M-51 and M-65, from the end of World War II until the 1990s. Initially issued to troops in Sicily and Italy for testing, however, due to design changes and contractor shortages, the M-43 Field Jacket was not issued to troops until 1944.

The M-1943 FIELD JACKET is cut loosely for easy movement, allowing more layers of clothing to be layered inside. Its design provides four large pockets, with the lower two pockets reinforced with 3/4-inch webbing for better weight distribution when loaded with ammo and grenades. The cuffs and collar close tightly to keep out the wind, and there's a drawstring at the waist for easy cinching and wind protection.

The M-1943 field jacket was a combat uniform developed at the end of World War II. Its design language has continued to the M-65. What most talked about is the M-43 gun lapel design, which is different from the collars of the M-5I and M-65, making it look more elegant. Nowadays, the common M-43 is very good when paired with some relatively slim and formal clothes.

The M-43 version is the top priority. The overall version strictly restores the vintage style (slightly longer than the M-65). The proportion of the drawstring position at the cotton waist, the width proportion of the collar, the arc shape, and date reinforcement. Every detail is important for high-quality reproduction.

This time our GIZEMO team reproduced this classic M-1943 FIELD JACKET, analyzed multiple versions of the original M-43, and accurately produced a restored model. It uses American supima long-staple cotton and Belgian heavy looms to restore the pure cotton satin cloth surface at that time, which is full of gloss and charming olive green.
