The MA-1 flight jacket series was born in the 1950s and ended in the 1990s, which has lasted an amazing length of time. This is a classic flight suit that pilots loved very much, and evolved from the B-15 series. The nylon 66 used in that era was a high-strength nylon invented by DuPont. Compared with other nylon fibers, nylon 66 had stronger flame retardancy and abrasion resistance.

As the successor of the B-15 series, the classic design of the MA-1 was initially well received by pilots in the 1950s. Compared with the fur collar of the B-I5D, the threaded collar is more suitable for wearing a flight helmet and has better flexibility. Many of the B-15 series were returned to the factory and changed to threaded collars, which resulted in the B-I5AMOD. B-I5CMODB-I5DMOD model, MA-1, was distributed to the first line, and these MODs were distributed to the second line and overseas support.

MA-I has gone through eight versions in history from J-8279 to J-8279F, with some changes made between each version. Many people see MA-I with an orange lining, which is actually the 8279C. Later versions began to change to orange lining. Although the names are all MA-I, the differences in these military standard numbers have become their own series with interesting differences and charm.

The 8279-B version reproduced this time is an early version of 8279-B from the late 1950s. It is characterized by gray nylon fabric, gray lining, embroidered label with gold letters on a black background, and a circle on the inside of the placket. Corner cut, zigzag stitching on the inside, and nylon webbing for oxygen masks next to the zipper.

Historically, the zippers used in early MA-1s were usually made of CROWN and CONMAR alloys with a boiled black outer layer, which would have an old look as it was used more often.

The design of the MA-I is short, and the threaded design on the neck is to facilitate unrestricted movement after wearing the helmet. The threaded hem is tightened to allow the driver to be more flexible in the compact cockpit.

The early MA-| was filled with wool material and had a hair grafting process, so the original label would have said wool/cotton blended. In fact, it refers to the ratio of wool to bottom mesh. The wool is pure wool. This re-engraving also uses wool transplantation technology, and double-sided wool has a very good cold-proof effect.
