M51 PARKA LINER

The M5I system includes the M5I jacket, MSIPARKA, M51 liner, wolf hair hood, M51 combat pants, gloves, etc. The early design concept of a thick wool liner was to cope with extreme cold scenes. It was a follow-up product after the M48 detachable liner. In 1951, the early M-195I parka was equipped with a heavy wool liner. Historically, it only existed for less than a year. Due to the thickness and high cost of wool, it was replaced by the thin wool liner (commonly known as towels) after a few months. Liner) alternative. The weight of the early military version of the SMALL wool liner was close to 3 pounds. The warmth and texture brought by the thick wool material of the wool liner were unmatched by the later towel wool liner. The combination of wolf fur hood + windbreaker + thick wool liner is a classic three-piece set.

After dismantling and analyzing several MSI liners from the original year, the GIZEMO team discovered that the wool of the original year liner was actually double-sided wool. A military SMALL size liner weighs close to 3 pounds. According to the wool specifications at that time, we developed double-sided wool with a weight of 1050-1100 grams. The thick texture is matched with retro stitching to more purely restore the appearance of the early wool liner.
