M-43 FIELD JACKET LINER

The birth of the M-43Liner was quite controversial and tortuous. Although this design was very practical, due to different personal preferences, some senior military officers at the time had disagreements over dressing image issues and repeatedly tried to stop or sabotage production. One of the most difficult parts of the M-43's new layered uniform is the lining. After several months of testing, the quality control committee at the time decided on a fleece jacket with knitted cuffs and collar. Internal discussions and bickering over the ensuing months led to repeated delays in production, culminating in a severe shortage of M1943 field uniforms in the fall of 1944.

The issuance of M-43 liners was actually not a common phenomenon at the time, and many soldiers wore sweaters or other jackets for the same purpose. Considering that the inner liner is actually cotton poplin as the outer fabric, they are often worn alone without the M-43 jacket outside. This time our GIZEMO team reproduced this classic item, the M-43 liner, analyzed multiple original versions, and accurately produced the restored model. American supima long-staple cotton is used for spinning. Although it is a thin poplin fabric, we still use Belgian looms to strictly restore the production.
