The 2nd Armored Division of the US Army is an armored division-level unit of the US Army, established in 1940. The 2nd Armored Division was formed in 1940 to enhance the mechanized and armored capabilities of the U.S. Army. This was a few years before the outbreak of World War II, and the U.S. military was facing an urgent need for modernization and equipment. The division was formed in response to possible war threats and expeditionary operations. The 2nd Armored Division was nicknamed "Hell on Wheels." The nickname "Hell on Wheels" was a visual description of the powerful strength, combat capabilities, and tactical flexibility displayed by the 2nd Armored Division on the battlefield. It also reflects their important achievements during World War II and the fear and blow they inflicted on their enemies.

The design of the M4 Sherman tank began in 1938, when the U.S. military realized the need for a new type of tank to enhance the army's mechanized combat capabilities. Some of the ideas of designer Walter Christie influenced the design of the Sherman tank. The initial prototype was tested in 1941 and series production began in 1942. In order to make up for the shortcomings of the M4 Sherman tank, the U.S. Army made a series of improvements late in the war and launched the M4A3E8 Sherman tank, which had a more powerful engine, improved suspension system and better firepower to improve its ability to fight against German heavy tanks.

We spent half a year researching and developing to restore the woolen lining used in tank jackets back then. As a high-end replica, we hope that the replica clothes can be as close as possible to the historical version, because in each specific era, the fabrics used and the zippers and other details of the military uniforms are all important factors that make it a classic. The woolen used on this kind of tank jacket has historically been common in brown and green.

Historically, the most common zippers used in tank jackets were TALON M42. We use original style retro zippers processed and produced by Japanese brands. The pure cotton webbing zipper is characterized by an asymmetrical diamond base. This kind of zipper is rarely seen on the market today. After time of use, it will show the true color of brass.

The tank jacket was widely used during World War II and became one of the iconic garments of armored soldiers. These soldiers assume critical roles in combat, and their clothing needs to meet their specific needs for working inside or with tanks. An interesting phenomenon is that before the B-10 flight suit was developed, some pilots of the Army Airlines did not have warm flight jackets during that period.
There have been cases of flying missions wearing this tank.
